Artificial Turf in Orem, UT

Orem, population about 97,048 (Census Bureau 2023 estimate), sits between Provo and Lindon on the Utah County side of the Wasatch Front. Unlike Provo, Orem is one of the cities KSL found allows artificial turf, with restrictions on its use and location (KSL, Nov 2024).

For an Orem homeowner that usually means turf is a realistic option for the backyard and a conversation with the city for anything facing the street. Ask before you design, not after the turf is down.

Turf In An Orem Yard

Orem lots range from older quarter-acre parcels with mature trees to newer, tighter subdivisions. Under big trees, turf needs a plan for leaf and needle cleanup and for roots near the surface; on small lots, setup costs push the per-foot price up. The installer we refer looks at both at the estimate.

Mature trees: plan a leaf blower, not a rake
Small areas: expect a higher per-square-foot price
Backyard greens: popular, and the simplest approval
